Famous for its many species of sponges, Danes Dyke is a must go location for anyone into chalk fossils. This is the best location in the UK for sponges. Echinoid's, Bivalves, Brachiopods and Crinoids can all be found too. |
Another location for Sponges and molluscs. The most interesting finds that can be made at Bessingby Quarry is the Echinoids, these are of an excellent condition. |
This is an important site and is classified as SSSI. Echinoid's and molluscs can be found in the Red Rock, but please note: No Collecting and No Hammering is permitted. This site is part of important scientific work and must not be disturbed. |
Whilst most people come to Bempton to see the puffins, the tall chalk cliffs are packed with echinoid's, bivalves and brachiopods. Unfortunately access is almost impossible and far too dangerous but can be made further along the coast. |
